Anyone who lives in Cincinnati may want to go out and buy an enormous pair of earmuffs. It's extremely tentative, but there have been talks of Terrell Owens going to the Cincinnati Bengals, thus teaming up with Chad Ochocinco. They wouldn't quite be the most feared receiver tandem in terms of ability, however, they would undoubtedly be the most feared tandem in terms of what may come out of their mouths. If TO actually ends up in Cinci, I have on idea how this could work, and I have no idea how Carson Palmer will be able to keep each of the disgruntled receivers happy. What I do know is that this could potentially be the most entertaining saga in the NFL next year.
Now, of course, this may not happen. As a matter of fact, the source reporting that this will happen is Chad Ochocinco himself. I wouldn't exactly consider him to be the most reliable media outlet, but nevertheless, it gives us something to think about. These two boys (not men, boys) were quite possible the two most outspoken athletes of the decade. That may seem hard to believe, but you can certainly make an argument. At any rate, if TO hasn't stayed happy anywhere he's gone, how is this going to work? He probably wouldn't even be regarded as the better receiver, after the season he had this year, and even if he was, you can bet that Ochocinco will make sure he gets his fair share of passes. And what if the Bengals don't make the playoffs? Although they won their division this year, they're still in arguably the most competitive division in the NFL, with the Steelers and Ravens to deal with. So, if they fall short of January football, whose fault will it be, TO? Are you going to blame OC for taking passes from you, Palmer for not throwing to you, or perhaps Marvin Lewis for not diagraming every single play around you?
Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see Chad Ochocinco and Terrell Owens have to learn to deal with each other and share the football, but I don't see any possible happy ending to this potential marriage. Regardless, it may be time for Cincinnati to get their popcorn ready.
